The Beginning
Extract started in 1992 in 
herbs for cooking which were at the time not available or very seldom available. We started with a market stall. We were then asked by some hotel and catering businesses to start delivering fresh herbs to them. From 
then on our wholesale activities started. Extract has established itself as the hotel and catering supplier of fresh herbs to businesses around
The first pestos and tapenades
Given the increased demand for fresh garden herbs from other parts of the Netherlands and the limited shelf life of these herbs, in 1996 we started to prepare oil based fresh garden herbs so that the shelf life could be improved and hence the distributor could more of our products in stock.
For this purpose, we installed a processing kitchen in the garden shed.
By 1997, our home and shed in the back garden became too small so Extract moved to a commercial space in Overloon. In Overloon, both our supplier activities and processing of fresh herbs has increased. In 2004, following the growing demand for pestos and tapenades we stopped our wholesale activities. We have since dedicated ourselves to producing pestos and tapenades under the registered trademark Lisimo.®
Today
Due to the specialisation in and further growth of the production of pestos and tapenades, Extract has moved to a new location in the 
Bijsterhuizen business park in Wijchen/Nijmegen. This is an ideal location for the traditional preparation of pestos and tapenades. Using fresh herbs as the basis for the production of pestos and tapenades, Extract takes great care to ensure that all the ingredients in its products are fresh and that no artificial flavours, aromas, colours or preservatives are added.
